Subaru’s 2010 Legacy Named Safest Car in Japan
Friday, April 30th, 2010
Aside from winning the Grand Prix Award 09/10 in the JNCAP, Japan also names the 2010 Subaru Legacy “Japan’s Safest Car”. Subaru has been winning numerous awards for the past three years. Subaru’s top honor cars include the Impreza (2007), and the Forester (2008). For 2009, Japan tested 17 vehicles. Only Subaru passed the stringent standards and was awarded Safest Car.
Most notable was Subaru Legacy’s performance during the safety performance tests. For this section, the Legacy proved itself as the safest car for passengers among all other cars in the lot. The car also received the highest rating during the Pedestrian Head Protection Test. Legacy also received the Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment) top five-star rating.
The EURO NCAP gave the Legacy its top rating because it proved to be the safest for passengers as well. This was decided during the recent Australasian NCAP. It is also the “top safety pick” of the IIHAS (Insurance Institute of Highway Safety) in the United States. And there’s no reason for the car manufacturer to be surprised with these ratings.
